Lucy421 > Ron's Memorial on Debbie-2. In the background, you see the Rice Bowl, where we spent most of our time -- Highway QL-1 and the old French railroad tracks behind it.. Both are main routes today, and you can catch the train hereabouts and go north through Quang Ngai, Da Nang, and on eventually to Hanoi -- or south to Ho Chi Minh City. Ron led us on many a patrol around the Rice Bowl, in the surrounding mountains, and beyond. He was the best -- best point man, best leader we had.
